Audio Dropouts
5.6.2: With this update I am having regular audio dropouts (fraction of a second) and audio fragments are playing when there should be silence.
Re: Audio Dropouts
Hi,
I have no explanation for your problem, the audio library of 5.6.2 is the same since 5.1.6 (March 2022)
Can you try with another soundcard, like Behringer UCA 202 or 222 ? Or an usb soundcard stick like that:

Re: Audio Dropouts
Hello,
I did test it again with 5.4.2 which is working quite well for me.
My audio output is a virtual audio cable but the problem also occurs on my DJ-Controller sound card.
5.6.2 is giving me the described problem.
While testing I recognized while the sound drops out the clock for the remaining time got also stuck.
I estimated the dropout time at about 0,1 sec.
Anyway, the midi part did work nice!

Re: Audio Dropouts
Just tested 5.5.3.
Same problem.
Same problem.
Re: Audio Dropouts
The only thing I think is introduction of BASS Mixer plugin to make JP sending ouput to two devices and handle input for microphone. But honesty, I never got the problem you have, either on physical computers than virtual machines
When you write "regular", you mean you have a dropout every x seconds ?
Can you make a reacording of the problem, including parts of audio that are played when they should not?

Re: Audio Dropouts
It happens randomly, no specific timing and length.
After switching between different versions of JP I now get the impression that the problem does not happen so often anymore.
After pressing about 40 times the problem occured again and I did capture the audio.
Where can I send it to you?

Re: Audio Dropouts
This looks very strange. Have not you something else on your computer that takes sometimes CPU load or something else ?
Try to save as mp3 file and zip it to upload here in "Attachments".

Re: Audio Dropouts
Testing 5.6.2, different devices or output doesn't make a difference.
JP cpu consumption surprisingly high.

Re: Audio Dropouts
What are your machine specs?
On a i5-9500 with Win10 64 bits, it takes less than 10% (peak).More between 0 to 7%: Can you try to decrease refresh rate of Display and/or VU-meters, in the Settings? These settings are designed to reduce CPU consumption, but I know I can run JP on a old poor HP T5720 (AMD Geode NX 1500 512M Flash Rom 256M DDR SDRAM WXP Embedded SP2) without any problem.
