Hey just wondering if there's an issue with the update server or something, as when I go to settings and check for updates, it always says 'failed to check for update' every time.

I'm on v5.3.2 right now.

To my knowledge, the is no issue with the server (it is the same of where this present forum is hosted), I just tried here on a Windows XP virtual machine, on a Windows 10 machine, no problem on both, connected to the Internet with optic fiber link. Tried also with a laptop connecter to the Internet through an android phone with shared connection as USB MODEM, no problem too.

Which Windows version are you using with JP?
I assume the machine where JP is installed, Internet connection is fully available?

Oh yah, Internet is working great. I'm using Windows 10 v22H2, using boot camp on a MacBook. I've had no issues with anything else, just JP.

Hmmm, I don't know boot camp and have not Mac/Apple hardware. Perhaps the network device not recognized by JP ? I don't know at all

I'm assuming it's a port or firewall issue of some sort. I tried turning off the Windows Defender firewall and check for updates, but it's the same thing. Is there a test I can try that would help you figure it out? Or give you some sort of backend info?

I just built a simple app that only get the lastest JP version number, can you test and post a feedback of what you get ?

I don't know what to say I will ask to the http request designer, if this runtime error means something for him.
I made a small change, but I don't think it will resolve your problem, can you re-DL the file and test ?
