I created a exe for tests :

Can you DL it and put it in your Jingle Palette installation folder (usually "C:\Program Files (x86)\Jingle Palette" on W10 x64 machines) ?

This version is the same as 5.3.2, with check update modified routine, and declared as 5.2.2 .

There are two tests to do. But before, edit jp.ini, and change IgnoredUpdate=532 for IgnoredUpdate=522 and save it.

First test :
Run Jingle_Palette532as522.exe, you should get a window that informs you of an available update (5.3.2), with changelogs. Click on "Download and install", it should downlaod the installer. Once downloaded, you wil lhave to click "Yes" to close and install. The app will close and the installer will start. But just discard the installer.

Second test :
Run Jingle_Palette532as522.exe, you should get a window that informs you of an available update (5.3.2), with changelogs. Click on "Close" to simply close this window. Then go to Options/Settings/About.. and click on "Check for updates", you should get the same window of the first test. Here too, "Download and install", but discard the installer.

These test won't remove your actual configuration.

To finish, just put back IgnoredUpdate=532 in jp.ini. You can now run Jingle_Palette.exe (usual version) like before

I did the test, put the file into the install folder, changed the jp.ini file and ran it like you said, and it found the update and the installer loaded just fine. Did the 2nd test, works as well - went to options - settings - about and it found the update.

It sound okay so

I will apply this fix for next release.
