Just suggesting a few alternative ideas.
You're right i use Goldwave to quiclky edit audio,, often fading out songs in 4 seconds that have a 10 second fade out.

Personally if i was running windows 7, and required jingles or effects to be faded early, i would make multiple copies of the same jingle and name them as required. I wouldn't mess with fade points etc.

Changing the fadeout point doesn't modify the file, this is the advantage of this feature. It just set a point where the output volume of the jingle will fade out. This is usefull for who load a song and want to play only a part without copying the file, editing it.
But now it looks OK, I think I found the crash problem, I changed some code and JP no longer crashes.

Well done!
I understood that it would not change the sound file. You can do the same with traktor beat grids, and again with ots studio.

I know 3rd party software isn't required.
I mentioned 3rd party software as an example to show that I understood what your taking about.
